Mi-Mi

Don't say...Mi-Mi would be 109 years old today.

Mi-Mi was my paternal Grandmother - born 1900.

She lived to a respectable age of 93.

I visited her every holiday break when I was in Brizzy - on a few occasions in January 1994 I was able to take Leesy-J along.

I decided I was going to ask some delving questions on her early life....she told me the following.......

Mi-Mi (Marguerite or Rita) met Pa (Llewellyn or Lew) at Coolangatta on holiday with her friend from Gympie named Doris. Rita and Doris met up at a party and soon arrived a football team who had finished playing a game of Rugby. Pa was one of the boys in the football team that she sat across from at the table - quote "...and blow me if he didn't sit across from me !". As a result of this meeting, she had to say good-bye to Abe Hood (her boy-friend). Mi-Mi told us that she was well-provided for with money from her parents who owned 'hotels' (Corrigan Building in Gympie) so that they could go to the Jenolan Caves for their honeymoon.

Happy 109th Birthday Mi-Mi !
