Ever-Growing Debris

Don't say...you cannot clean up the 'spill'.

Today was a quiet sunny day - sitting in unexpected traffic gave me time to reflect how lucky we are in comparison to the havoc around us even our neighbours...the water damage at our place is so mild that it doesn't feel right to claim on our insurance.

I haven't mentioned that on Sunday night as the kids went to bed and we prepared ourselves to endure the black-out we were awoken with "Mum, Dad, I've done a spill !" (a 'spill' is a v*mit in our house). Poor X was first then the others followed during the enxt day or two......all that is fine and I am not complaining - it's just when they 'spill' all over their sheets, need them changed twice during the night, have no dry towels owing to the storm clean-up and we cannot wash or dry aything....well, it's not pretty.

Today we built a dam out the front with rocks from the garden, Ivy on my arm and watched the Army and SES collect the ever-growing debris.
